“I didn’t want a new website. The one I had was static, confusing, and was not an accurate representation of my magazine and that’s the way I liked it. FCTN came to me and said they could give my site a new, vibrant look, make it easy to update and easier for my audience to access my magazine. I said no thank you and bid them good day. Then I remember being struck with a blunt object and waking up very groggy three weeks later, sitting before a laptop which displayed my new site. It was colorful, well-designed, easy to navigate through, even easier to update and at a very fair price. FCTN gave me the best site possible for my money. And I hate them for it.”—Chris Heavener, Publisher, Annalemma

Last Friday we had the groundbreaking ceremony for the beginning of construction on our new headquarters at 200 W. Welbourne in Winter Park. The Mayor, Ken Bradley, came out and said a few words, and then our President, Chase Heavener, added a few things that sounded like words too. The grand finale was when we invited the crowd to join us in creating a little piece of ceremonial artwork. The construction is going to take about six months, but we are all really excited to be building a new home for FCTN and everyone is invited to the grand opening party, it’s gonna be a good one. Thanks to all who atteneded, spoke and threw paint balloons at our sign.

Creative Director Charles Bergquist moved into a new office last month. We are now officially operating on both costs.

FCTN Employee & pro wakeskater designed her own signature model wakeskate for Integrity…the JennyDanger, with a classic photo of her grandma at 19 years old. Grandma’s stoked.

Fiction was approached to create a motion sting for Company Wake to coincide with the initial launch of their website. The general idea was to keep it very clean and simple so that they may use it across a variety of platforms. During the initial brand launch at Surf Expo, Company Wake used an extruded foam core logo for promotion and a centerpiece. In keeping with that visual cue, Fiction modeled a logo and a simple title design to clearly and effectively relay the message.

Team FCTN took a trip from Seattle WA to Denver CA. Somehow we managed to travel on a almost every form of transportation available. we started on a private jet and ended out trip on a 12 hour drive from LA to Denver.
